What Leverage Is Available on My Trading Account?
The default leverage for new trading accounts at Ultima Markets is 1:500, with eligible trading accounts offering leverage of up to 1:2000. The maximum leverage available depends on your trading account type, account entity, trading product, and trading account equity. Certain trading products may have lower leverage limits.
What is the maximum leverage for each trading account type?
The maximum leverage available varies depending on your trading account type and eligibility.

Once your account is funded, you can request a leverage adjustment through the Client Portal, with options up to 1:2000 depending on your region, account type, and the regulations that apply to your account.
The maximum leverage shown above is subject to account eligibility, applicable regulatory requirements and prevailing trading conditions. Not all accounts or trading products may qualify for the maximum leverage.
How does my trading account equity affect my leverage?
Your available leverage may change depending on your trading account equity.

The leverage tier is determined by your total trading account equity, rather than the size of individual positions.
If your trading account equity moves into a different leverage tier, your available leverage may be adjusted automatically. This may affect the margin required for new positions and could result in margin recalculations for existing positions.
The applicable equity thresholds and leverage adjustments are subject to the trading account's applicable entity and account conditions.
What other factors can affect my available leverage?
Apart from your trading account type and equity, several factors may affect your available leverage:
Trading product: Different trading products may have their own maximum leverage limits. Where the product-specific limit is lower than your trading account leverage, the lower limit applies.
Market conditions: Leverage may be temporarily reduced during periods of high market volatility, major economic announcements, or around market opening and closing times. During Dynamic Leverage periods, margin requirements may increase or be adjusted without prior notice. This may increase the risk of a Margin Call or Stop-Out if sufficient free margin is unavailable.
How can I check my current leverage?
You can check your current leverage through the Ultima Markets Client Portal:
Log in to your Client Portal.
Navigate to your trading accounts.
Select the relevant trading account to view its current leverage.
For product-specific leverage and margin requirements, check the trading product's specifications in MetaTrader 4 (MT4) or MetaTrader 5 (MT5) before opening a position.
What should I know before trading with leverage?
Before opening a leveraged position, consider the following:
Check the applicable leverage: Your trading account's maximum leverage may differ from the leverage available for a specific trading product.
Monitor your trading account equity: Changes in equity may affect your available leverage and margin requirements.
Be aware of temporary restrictions: Leverage may be reduced during certain market conditions, potentially without prior notice.
Manage your position size: Higher leverage allows you to control larger positions with less margin, but it also increases your exposure to market movements. Both potential profits and losses may increase relative to the margin required to maintain the position.
You are not required to use the maximum leverage available. Choosing an appropriate position size and maintaining sufficient free margin can help you manage your trading exposure.
